Project

Site-specific colour layout: Walls and floors in aula, curtains, hallways, furniture, foyer, vitrines, staircases, kitchen, classrooms.

"- The colour palette from the 1940s is my inspiration and my starting point. It is not a historically correct reproduction of the colour scheme. My composition of colours is much more extensive than what you would have seen in the 40´s.

- I take the colours used in architecture at that time further and combine them in fields and on building elements in a more contemporary way. My intention with this new new the colour scheme is to emphasize the architecture and the progression through the building.

The walls in the big hall are divided in coloured fields. The divisions relate to the rhythm and geometry of the visible roof rafters. The coloured textiles in front of the windows play with the rhythm. The intention of the fields is to break down the scale of the hall.

Awards: Farveprisen 2020 / The Colour Award 2020 is given to visual artist Malene Bach for Lundehusskolen
